NOTICE - The next meeting of the BR RC Club will be Tuesday Feb 3rd at the Greenwell Springs Road Library at 7:00 PM

If you haven't paid your dues yet then B. C. is ready for your check.  Make sure that you bring your AMA card with you to have it stamped.  We will be working on or presenting the budget for this year.  If you have any suggestions let us know right away as it may be the last chance.

At the last meeting we were still looking for a contest director for the Big Bird fly in. Anyone that wants to take this on let us know soon..  We need to get the dates into AMA for a sanction to help lock us in for the time slot.  Volunteers are still needed for lots of areas.  Come out and help your club put on a great show.

The weather has not made flying much fun for the past month.  Several times I have gone out to the field and found the wind too strong or it was just a little cold.  It is time to check over the equipment and get it ready for when the weather breaks.  Cycle your batteries, check the radio cables and look over the plane in general.  If you do not have a cycler for the batteries then one night while watching a television show turn on the radio and the plane.  While watching the show you can wiggle the sticks to put a load on the receiver battery with the movement of the servos.  Pretend to be flying some maneuvers and that will simulate a flight.  Don't forget to pull the transmitter antenna out FULLY!  There is no reason to unnecessarily load the transmitter.  I had to have the output transistor of my radio replaced awhile back.  I used to run it without pulling the antenna out.  Watching the show is a good way to measure time. If it is an hour show that will give you an idea of how long you are running the system.  Be sure to check all the linkages on the servos and if you have had any rough landings put a
slight load on the servos to look for stripped gears.  By placing a finger at the end of the servo arm and letting the servo push into you and moving it slowly a stripped gear will show up as a bump in the movement.  Checking everything out now means more flying when the weather gets good.

We are still having the presentations after the meeting.  If you have something you what to present then by all means let us know.  The last list I saw was getting short.
